WATCH YOUR STEP! This photo -- BUG ON THE BEACH -- was taken over last Labor Day week-end, north of Grand Marais, MN. We stopped to walk on the stone beach, cameras in hand, to look out across Lake Superior and see what we might see--birds, boats, rock formations, sky, waves and more. We spent about a half an hour looking around, enjoyed the view but really didn't see anything that grabbed us enough to shoot many photos. As we were getting ready to leave, we looked down at the multi-colored stones and admired how smooth they were from all of the water action along the shoreline. It was then that we found this little treasure--a Giant Waterbug! It isn't the most beautiful critter we have ever seen. But that's nature. We got lucky! They are few and far between and you don't usually get to see them. Well, we got up close and personal with this bug. And as usual with Tony's photos that he shares, he strives to make viewers "want to be where he was and see what he saw!" So if you want to see this bug, head to Grand Marais.
Check back occasionally and see which photo is featured next! See below for a sneak peek.
